A self-paced course that aims to provide individuals in a variety of roles and industries with artificial intelligence skills to increase their productivity. This course is open to everyone and requires no prior programming knowledge or experience.
In an effort to democratize access to AI training, Google launched a $75 million AI Opportunity Fund with the goal of training more than 1 million Americans in basic AI skills. The first recipients of this fund are the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and Goodwill Industries International.

The AI Essentials course equips users with the knowledge to use AI tools to generate ideas, develop content, make informed decisions and accelerate everyday work tasks. Participants will learn directly from Google's AI experts and engage in hands-on AI experiences. Upon completion, they will receive a certificate from Google that they can share within their professional network.
How it Works?
The platform works with employers, educational institutions and non-profit organizations to facilitate the practical acquisition of AI skills. Notable partners include Citigroup, Miami Dade College and Stanford Digital Education, who have committed to integrating AI Essentials into their education and workforce development initiatives.
This initiative builds on the recent launch of Google's Generative AI for Educators course and reinforces their efforts to facilitate digital skills training in local communities through initiatives such as Google Career Certificates, which boast more than 600,000 graduates worldwide.
